Abstract

The panel performance of OLED display that has been recognized as the ultimate display is described in this chapter. The emissive device, OLED display has entirely different performance from other flat-panel display devices. OLED display had been expected to be an ideal display until released in the market; correspondingly, it also has potential to be easy to use by virtue of its simple structure as well as an excellent image quality. The performance of OLED display can be categorized by three aspects: optical image quality, emotional image quality, and usability. Each measurement method is explained, and its performance level is depicted also. Especially, human vision system is used for evaluating performance of emotional image quality; approach based on user experience is applied for quantifying usability performance. Outstanding panel performance of OLED display is described in the Sect. “3”. In the Sect. “4”, panel performance and technical direction are suggested for more differentiating panel performance of OLED display for the future.
